This is an excellent item and I got what I expected: hard case, some space for the hard drive and a special holder for the usb cable. The look is also very nice and now I am not worried about carrying my portable harddrive with me on my backpack anymore. -- Excellent case
I have done a bit of research before buying a case for my WD MY PASSPORT ESSENTIAL 500GB.

Reading some of the reviews, I found a few people mentioning that the new WD My Passport Essentials would not fit into this case ("they are too square for this case! don't buy it!").

They were wrong.

it is a great case - fits exactly right.

The only cons:
* the zipper is a bit too gentle...
